We offer four core programs supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Melvin J. Larson Therapeutic Day School
At our Therapeutic Day School, we are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for students with diverse learning needs.
Our curriculum and programming is designed to meet the individual needs of each student, offering personalized academic instruction, social skills development, and therapeutic support. Our highly trained staff includes special education teachers, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, and paraprofessionals who work together to create a comprehensive and collaborative approach to education. Our classrooms offer integrated therapies, small class sizes, high staff to student ratios, and individualized programming tailored to meet the instructional needs of each student.
We believe in the importance of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued. Our goal is to empower our students to reach their full potential and achieve academic success. Through a combination of evidence-based practices, innovative teaching methods, and individualized support, we address the unique strengths and challenges of each student to help them succeed in school and beyond.
Community Day Services Program
The Community Day Services program at UCP-Center for Disability Services is dedicated to providing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to develop and enhance their lives. Our program offers a wide range of activities and supports that are designed to promote greater independence and personal choice for each participant.
Our highly-trained staff works with individuals to assist them in gaining, retaining, and improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills in a non-residential setting. This allows participants to engage in a variety of activities and learn important life skills in an environment separate from their residential living arrangement.
Our program also includes opportunities for individuals to engage in productive work activities, opportunities for socialization, leisure skill acquisition, community outings, and recreational activities. These activities help participants to build confidence, social connections, and a sense of accomplishment as they work towards their personal goals.
Overall, the Community Day Services program at UCP-Center for Disability Services is committed to providing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the support they need to live fulfilling and independent lives. We are dedicated to helping each participant reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
In-Home Respite
Our In-Home Respite program is designed to provide temporary relief and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families by offering high-quality care and support in the comfort of their own homes.
Our trained and compassionate respite workers are dedicated to meeting the unique needs and preferences of each individual we serve. Whether it's helping with personal care, activities of daily living, or simply providing companionship and social interaction, our respite caregivers are here to ensure that our participants receive the personalized care they deserve.
We understand the importance of maintaining continuity of care and promoting independence for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which is why our program focuses on building trusting relationships with all family members. Our goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where our participants feel empowered and supported to live their best lives.
Home-Based Services
Our Home-Based Services program provides comprehensive, individualized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the comfort of their own homes. Our Self-Directed Assistants work collaboratively with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their family members, caregivers, therapists, and support staff to develop customized plans that address their unique needs and goals.
Our home-based services program includes a range of services, such as personal care assistance, therapy services (including physical, occupational, and speech therapy), behavioral support, mobility modifications, home modifications, and/or life skills training. We believe in empowering individuals to live their best lives by providing the support they need to thrive at home and in their communities. We are dedicated to promoting independence, inclusion, and quality of life for all of our clients.
