The Salvation Army Will County Joliet Corps

Who We Are

The Salvation Army, an international movement, it is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army was founded by William Booth back in 1852 and we now currently preach the gospel and serve communities in 127 different countries and preach in 175 different languages. The Salvation Army divides itself geographically into territories, which are then sub-divided into divisions. The Will County Joliet Corps is one of the corps within the Metro Division.

What We Do

The Salvation Army Will County Joliet Corps serves residents of Will County with a weekly self shop- food pantry, Nicor and Illinois American Water assistance, in depth family assistance,  shower program, clothing vouchers, pastoral counseling, toys, coats and turkeys for Christmas, emergency disaster relief and much more.

The Salvation Army also offers an after school program, character building club (for children) women's ministries group, open gym for basketball and building rentals for parties and board meetings.

The Salvation Army is able to serve residents because of it's Kettle Campaign. Every year you see our famous red kettles and bell ringers in front of a Walmart or Jewel. This fundraiser is the fundraiser that raises the money to provide all these services to adults and children below the poverty level. We simply cannot do these programs without volunteers to help run the programs and volunteers to ring in the donations. We have been blessed for so long for the lavish time of volunteers! Please consider ringing in donations for these families this year! It's only a two hour commitment.
