Who We Are

Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The most dangerous time for all young people is after school between the hours of 2:00pm and 6:00pm. It is during this time that children will join some type of club or peer group. The notion is that they will be negatively influenced (gangs, drugs, etc) if they are not positively influenced. Gang leaders prey on young, impressionable youth, who have no social support at home and no supervision after school. The staff at the Boys & Girls Club in Joliet refuses to let these children fall victim to the streets. We strive to provide an atmosphere to positively influence and provide structure to young people in perilous positions. The Boys & Girls Club is uniquely qualified to deliver the services promised and has done so for the past 60 years.

What We Do

The G.W. Buck Boys & Girls Club has served the Joliet Community for over sixty years and is dedicated to helping youth from all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens. Further, it is the intent of the Boys & Girls Club to provide alternatives to drugs, gangs, teen pregnancy, and other social ills. This is possible by providing varied programs implemented by a dedicated and caring staff.
