Who We Are

Simply put, the mission of Joliet Area Community Hospice (JACH) is:

Real People.
Real Care.
Your Family.

We are real, compassionate, professional people providing real quality care to you and your family.

Established in 1982 by local hospitals, community leaders and volunteers to bring quality end-of-life care to the community, JACH is a not-for-profit, state licensed (since 1986), Medicare/Medicaid certified hospice (since 1990). In 2004, JACH established the first freestanding Hospice Home in the state of Illinois, serving as a model for others to come. Since JACH's founding, we have provided compassionate palliative and end-of-life care, supported families and caregivers, and have offered bereavement services to loved ones. JACH's staff of 168 full and part-time employees and 260 volunteers work to provide the agency's programs and services to approximately 2400 hospice and palliative care patients annually in the eight county area we serve. In the past two years alone, JACH provided over $1 million in charity care, community bereavement programs, unreimbursed pediatric hospice and palliative care, and community outreach. Since our founding, JACH has cared for over 32,000 individuals.

What We Do

Joliet Area Community Hospice provides individualized, expert, hospice care for adults and children diagnosed with a limited life expectancy, palliative care for adults and children with a life-limiting illness without a terminal prognosis and grief support services to patients' families and adults, children and families in the greater community.
