Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow established the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center as a non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization in 1995 to provide critical services to children who are victims of sexual abuse and severe physical abuse, and their non-offending family members. We accept cash, check, or credit card donations to help fund the day-to-day operations. Below is a wish list of in-kind items (must be new and unopened) that donors may provide. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Client & Family Needs

  • Individually wrapped, multi-packaged snacks: chips, cookies, crackers, applesauce/fruit cups, fruit snacks
  • Canned soda, bottled water or fruit juice boxes
  • K-Cups (regular, decaf, and hot chocolate)
  • Coloring & activity books, crayons, washable markers
  • Barbie dolls, baby dolls
  • Toy cars or trucks (i.e. Hot Wheels)
  • Books, magazines (English & Spanish)
  • Board games
  • Stuffed animals/Beanie Babies
  • Action figures
  • Backpacks, duffle bags
  • Teen-age items: sports-themed items, small handheld electronic games, journals, stationary sets, nail polish, cosmetic sets, jewelry making/bead/craft sets, puzzles
  • Gift cards: restaurant, grocery & gasoline

Service & Program Needs

  • Toys, bedding and supplies for our therapy and facility dogs that provide comfort to children/families.
  • Easel board paper pads (no lines)
  • Reams of printer paper & card stock paper (white and bright colors)
  • Solid colored folders with pockets
  • Address and shipping labels
  • Envelopes (8×10 size plain or window)
  • Paper towels, paper plates, plastic utensils
  • Kleenex
  • Lysol or Clorox cleaning wipes
  • Bathroom surface spray cleaner, toilet bowl drop-Ins
  • Antibacterial liquid hand soap, hand sanitizer or wipes
  • Clear plastic storage bags and containers (all sizes)
  • Baby wipes (unscented)
  • Toilet tissue
  • Storage bins, containers, crates
  • AAA, AA and C batteries
  • Dry erase markers

Seasonal Donation Ideas

  • FEBRUARY: Help a child feel loved; donate items for Valentine’s Day, i.e. boxes of Valentines Day cards and snacks.
  • MARCH-APRIL: Springtime baskets, candy, small toys & other basket fillers.
  • JUNE-JULY: Toys from the wish list to help fill our gift closet, personal hygiene “goodie bags” (soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb/brush)
  • JULY- SEPTEMBER: School supplies to help kids go back to school and be successful.
  • OCTOBER-DECEMBER: Toys, books, stockings-suffers, gift cards, etc. to help make the holidays happy and bright for children and their families in-need.
